About Me
Welcome to 5th grade! I am so happy to be your teacher this year.
This is my 28th year in education and I have taught 2nd -7th grades in multiple districts across two states. After 20 years helping teachers as a facilitator and mentor, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the classroom and work with students directly!
I am a wife and mom. My husband works for Coca- Cola (I love DIET COKE!) and my son is teaching 8th grade Social Studies and is the Athletic Director here at MILA! GO BEARS! I spend Saturdays in the fall at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville watching football. GO VOLS!! My other hobbies are READING, volunteering at my church and being an advisor to the women of Chi Omega Fraternity at UNC Charlotte.
I have a fur baby, Pope's Pride Miss Scarlett, who is a 4yr old Boston Terrier. I love the color ORANGE, Diet Coke, spending time at any BEACH and reading!
I am a teacher because I believe our children are our most valuable resource. My goal is to ensure that every student that I teach believes in their individual ability to become whatever they choose and to develop their own personal gifts!
Here's to a great 2016-2017 school year! Check back often for updates on the "our work" tab.
